We offer a number of short courses throughout the year which come under the umbrella of Platform. These cover a wide variety of drama and theatre related subjects, from Brecht to Sondheim, Musicals, Physical Theatre and more recently Theatre of The Absurd.  They are run by specialist facilitators and take place on Saturday evenings from 20:00 to 22:00.

Just announced - our next Platform

Comedy Acting – Mime, Improvisation skills and Ragtime music!

Let’s build on and develop mime and improvisation skills through the genre of comedy and get the chance to create and perform a comedy piece to Ragtime music!

Do you enjoy watching comedy? If yes, then join this course to discover how much more fun it is to create and be part of it! This really fun, practical and entertaining course will enable you to become familiar and further develop your understanding of comedy acting. Through a variety of fun and easily accessible drama games, exercises and activities you will explore the techniques of Improvisation and Mime as well as discover how to effectively use Ragtime music in a mimed comedic performance.

Towards the end of the course we will work towards a Silent Comedy style in class performance where you will get to use placards and ragtime music with mime!
