Who teaches this course?
Heather Stockwell is a performer and teacher with over 10 years of experience in teaching people of all ages. She studied English at the University of Birmingham before working in the Houses of Parliament for many years- but her first love was always the performing arts.
Post University, Heather studied acting at The Actors Centre Covent Garden (now the Seven Dials Playhouse) and trained with LAMDA as a teacher. She has studied various styles of singing for over 20 years including musical theatre, opera and jazz.
Recent directing credits include Life is a Cabaret at the OSO Barnes and Stones in his Pockets at Hampton Hill Theatre.
Heather also performs herself regularly- singing professionally at weddings and also as an actor with local companies at The Richmond Theatre, The Minack Theatre Cornwall and Hampton Hill Theatre.

Acting Through Song & Singing Technique course will introduce you to:
Acting Through Song & Singing Technique is a short course for anyone interested in developing their technical singing skills to assist acting through song. We will explore warming up, breath support, and different ways in which to use the singing voice as well as the body to create meaning, tell stories and develop characters. We will also talk about the importance of vocal care and good vocal hygiene with plenty of tips and tricks!
Please note this is not a purely singing technique class.
As part of warming up and in performance there will be some stretching/ movement so please wear clothes and footwear you feel comfortable moving in.
